The Raptors struggled to contain Philadelphias' Joel Embiid, who scored 8 points right out of the gate. Serge Ibaka responded to Embiid's dominance by scoring 13 points of his own. Neither team gained any momentum in the 1st quarter, with the biggest point differential being 3. The Raptors and the 76ers were tied 27-27 heading into the 2nd quarter.
