So you've probably noticed that the site looks a little bit different. We felt after almost four years of the site look, it was time to give both the site and the partner portal an update for a few reasons:
- Gotta stay with the times! The site was looking a bit dated
- The framework behind the site was rather old and no longer supported. In order to update to a newer version of the framework, we felt now would be the good time to re-design the site
- We were seeing a slight dip in our SEO results. Our SEO performance is critical to the success of this site
Site Changes
Right now, this is mostly just a facelift of the same content, but with the updates to the framework, this opens the door for future expansion and new features. Here are some of the key changes you may see and why:
- For partner blog posts - The RSS iFrame page has been removed due to the fact that some changes were made with Google Analytics that the page views were no longer counting those to your analytics as well. While not ideal, we are following the RSS reader style of format to direct readers back to your site to read the full post. Note that your RSS feed settings determine how much or how little of your post we pull into the site. By default, web hosts and applications (like WordPress) will only post a summary of your post to an RSS feed. This can be changed in your settings, but you will need to review the help documents for your web host or application for posting
- Bar & Restaurant Pages have been removed - This was an extremely difficult decision based on how the COVID Pandemic has severely hurt our bar and restaurant industry. The problem is with so many restaurants opening and closing in the last 18 months, it's been impossible to keep our information up to date. We would rather have no information than wrong information. The bar and restaurant data is still safely stored in our database so we have the ability to bring it back once things stabilize or we have more help. Note that the Stadium Guide is still there, but no bar and restaurant information will be displayed.
- Stadium Scene's Main Event is on indefinite hiatus...mostly - As much as we love doing the show, it was becoming increasingly difficult to schedule, record, and edit shows as we start leaving our homes again and returning to "normal". The one exception is that we will still be doing "Ten Minutes With..." since you, our partners are the most important part of StadiumScene.TV. We promise that if you want to have your show featured on Stadium Scene's Main Event, we will absolutely record a show for you. Get in touch with your account manager or DM us on social media to schedule your episode!
- Colorcast - We're excited to announce we're working with the popular sports commentary and live broadcast service, Colorcast! Our Partner Portal features instructions and more information about setting up a live show or listening to some of the amazing talent performing on the app! Some of your favorite StadiumScene.TV Members are already broadcasting on the site and building quite a following! Download the app today!
Upcoming Changes
In the near future, we're looking to add more features to the site to both add to the resources and create more value for our site visitors and partners:
- Training Camp Tutorial Library - We will be putting more effort into the "Training Camp" library of tutorials on the MVP Portal. We will be cycling out an article periodically for members of our free service, but paid members of the site will have full access to our ever-growing library of information ranging from social media, making graphics with Canva, understanding analytics, and much more! For more information on pricing and the incredible benefits offered with our paid MVP subscription service, please visit our pricing page. When you're ready, log into the partner portal and check out!
- Start Your Publication Resources - One of our most suggested items is from people who do not have a blog, podcast, video, or streaming channel and want to, but they do not know where to begin. We will be adding posts and tutorials in our regular feed of how you can go about starting your publication and we hope it inspires you and gets you to join our family!
- More Stadium Guides - We generate a lot of traffic into the site from the Stadium Guides, and then we funnel them out to view your content. It's a major traffic driver and we continue to grow the resource with more options. You may have noticed we added some of the most popular stadiums in Europe, Asia, and Australia. We'll be adding stadiums from Africa and the Premier Hockey Federation (formerly the NWHL - National Women's Hockey League) in the not-too-distant future. We're still limiting our focus to professional stadiums, but maybe we'll get into college stadiums at some point down the road!
