Happy New Year 2023 - An Update From Stadium Scene

Dear Partners and Friends of Stadium Scene,

It's time once again for our New Year's Eve message!  This will be the sixth message we've shared with the readers and we're excited about where we currently sit and where are going in 2023 and beyond.

Goodbye & Hello

We officially said goodbye to Jillian Fisher this year as a co-owner of Stadium Scene.  She experienced a life-changing moment and was inspired to move into the medical world.  She's back in school studying to be a surgical tech and is stepping away (not 100%) from sports content creation.  As sad as it was to see Jillian go, we're excited to have brought long-time friend Ralph Schudel on board into the ownership group.  Ralph was actually originally introduced to us several years ago by Jillian and has been a close friend of our site.  It was only natural to invite him to join the ownership team as he's been a huge contributor to our growth through beta testing features with us and being one of our early partners on the site contributing content.

Ralph will not only be taking over some of the accounts currently shared by myself and Kate, but he'll be taking the lead in developing the strategy for our new streaming and video channel, Stadium Scene TV (more on that below).  I will be working with Ralph closely to develop the technical pieces behind our channel as we aim to build the channel.

Stadium Scene TV

You've noticed in the last year we've started to standardize our branding where Stadium Scene is now the naming of the overall project so Stadium Scene TV can be the streaming channel.  We've started working with some of our partners on bundling out video content and using the advantages of multistreaming and the perks given by YouTube to take advantage of "live" broadcasts.  We want to take a moment to thank House of Hockey Podcast and The Daily Dribble for helping us test the platform over the last couple of months.

Merchandising

In 2023 we'll be revamping the Stadium Scene merchandise store and will be offering merchandise from our partners as they expand their brands.

We anticipate opening enrollment sometime during Q2 2023 so we can further expand our video content so keep an eye out for that.

Wednesday Night Dash

Our biggest surprise hit of 2022 was the introduction of Wednesday Night Dash live on Stadium Scene TV.  The iRacing competition put on by F-R Racing (my other venture) built up quite a following over the year and was the inspiration for the Stadium Scene TV channel.  We're excited to announce Wednesday Night Dash will be back again starting January 11th at 10 pm eastern time!  The NASCAR Next Gen Cup series schedule was announced earlier this week and we're looking to continue to grow in the world of eSports.

A big announcement is that play-by-play announcer Kendall Kerr had to step down due to time and family commitments, but we're excited to announce today that Eli Singh will be taking over as the new voice of Wednesday Night Dash!  Kendall will continue to be involved in the series as a member of the competition committee.

Another announcement is that we'll be changing the multistreaming platform and that will allow us to stream on Facebook in addition to Twitch, and YouTube.

The Return of Stadium Scene's Main Event?

Stadium Scene's Main Event took a back seat in 2022. We recorded three "Ten Minutes With..." and one special edition episode and that was it.  Kate has taken the lead on revamping the show and working on a strategy to bring it back.  We'll for sure be continuing to do "Ten Minutes With..." and "Play x Play" as we have a couple of books picked out to review!

Original Content

We're going to continue to push out new original content in 2023 including more Stadium Travel Guides, special edition guides in addition to the bowl travel, and other content which will be led by my wife, Katie.  She's quietly been putting together the various posts you've seen on the site over the last year and she'll expand her role by building out that content in 2023.

Education & Consulting

The number one piece of feedback we received from our partners is that we should create more value for our partners by creating courses and offering consulting services to help with Podcast/Blog/Video channel setup or building out a marketing and social media plan to help grow your content.  It's important to know that it takes a lot of work to build out your show, but we believe we're at a point where our knowledge and experiences can directly help you and avoid the most common mistakes in building your brand.

We also know we are not the top experts in all topics, but many of our partners are.  We'll be opening our education platform to our partners and assisting with course development on various topics.  The courses will be put up for sale through our education platform and we'll pay the vast majority of the course fee to the course developer as a new way for you to monetize your knowledge and build your reputation as an expert in the industry.  Keep an eye out for the announcement coming during the second half of 2023.

Conclusion

New content, a streaming channel, the return of Stadium Scene's Main Event, an education platform, and merchandising are a lot to take on in 2023, but we're ready for the challenge.  With the additions of Ralph and Katie, we're ready to double our output of quality content!  As always, your support of Stadium Scene has kept this going even in some very low times and for that, we're eternally grateful for that.  We're excited to deliver in 2023!

May 2023 bring you much success!

D.J. Fluck, Kate Thompson, and Ralph Schudel
