Alabama MBB 2022-2023 Season Recap + What?s to Come

Alabama?s men?s basketball program was the team to beat this season. The Tide was the number-one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Therefore, they ended the season as the number-one team in the country after defeating Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament to become SEC Champions for the ninth time in program history.  Head Coach, Nate Oats, has done an incredible job at building the basketball program and creating a dominating powerhouse in the SEC and NCAA overall. Check out the 2022-2023 roster to see the fantastic team the Tide had this season.  2022-2023 Season Stats Alabama – SEC Regular Season Champions Alabama was the regular season SEC Champions with only five regular season losses to UConn (2023 NCAA Champions), Gonzaga, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. The Tide took down two number one teams this season in North Carolina and Houston in November and December. Alabama was a steady top-10 and top-five team after beating Houston.  Alabama won its ninth SEC Tournament Championship Alabama was the number four team in the country entering the 2023 SEC Tournament. The Tide became SEC Tournament Champions after defeating Mississippi State, Missouri, and Texas A&M (after an embarrassing loss at the end of the regular season).  2023 NCAA Tournament After winning the 2023 SEC Tournament Championship, Alabama became the number-one team in the country and the number-one seed overall in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. It made us very nervous because all the hype comes with much pressure. The Tide is not as used to being on top or experienced in the NCAA Tournament, so it brought nerves to us here at Chat with Chelsea Renee. It is not that we thought Alabama could not do it; it was more so the lack of experience as a program and team to handle the pressures of being on top and in the NCAA Tournament. Alabama played Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the First Round and won 96-75 to move on to the Second Round. Maryland was the next opponent and was the number eight seed. The Terps had a great season, but the Tide defeated them 73-51. Now it was time for the Sweet Sixteen, where it seemed Alabama always falters in recent years.  Sweet Sixteen Bound Alabama had to play the number five seed San Diego State in the Sweet Sixteen.
