Alabama?s Brittany Davis Selected in the 2023 WNBA Draft

In honor of the 2023 WNBA season officially starting today, we are looking into the one and only Alabama women?s basketball player selected in the 2023 WNBA Draft.? Brittany Davis, G – 36th overall pick, Las Vegas Aces Before Alabama Brittany is from Georgia and first attended Gulf Coast State College to play women?s basketball. As a freshman, Brittany averaged 16.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, led GC with 16 points in the National Championship Game, and won the 2019 NJCAA National Championship. In addition, Brittany was the Pan Handle Freshman of the Year and made the NJCAA All-Tournament Team.  At Alabama? Sophomore Season In her sophomore season, Brittany played in all 30 games at Alabama. She accumulated a few career highs and best in points in a game and three-pointers. Unfortunately, Brittany could not play in her junior season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Senior Season Brittany began to soar at Alabama in her senior season, starting in all 34 games. She led the team in minutes played per game and ranked second in the SEC. Brittany also led Alabama with 17.7 points per game and seven rebounds. In addition, she was the leader in three-point field goals made and three-point field goals per game.? Brittany broke the three-point field goals in a game and set a school record at Alabama with 93 completed (91 held y Betsy Harris in 1993-1994). Brittany was the first Alabama player to reach 600 points in a single season since 1998-1999 and the sixth in school history. She was SEC Player of the Week when Alabama upset Tennessee and defeated Texas A&M in back-to-back games.  Luckily, Brittany returned for a fifth season as a graduate student at Alabama this past season, where she finished ranked 4th in the SEC for points per game (17.8). She tied her career-high Alabama NCAA Tournament scoring record with 33 points in the first round. Alabama eventually lost the game to Baylor, but the Tide fought hard.  Accolades at Alabama 2023 WNBA Draft Brittany declared for the draft and was officially drafted in the 2023 WNBA Draft by the Las Vegas Aces with the 36th overall pick.?
