On Tuesday, August 28th, the NFL?s deadline day for 53-man rosters across all 32 NFL teams, the Atlanta Falcons needed to cut 33 active players. The franchise waived 26 players, released five, and placed them on injured reserve. It is essential to consider that this is an initial roster to begin the season and not set. Things will happen, and changes will occur as time goes on. At noon today, August 29th, the Falcons can sign 16 players to the practice squad. Some of those waived or released players could be back in that capacity.
