Game Review: Raptors at Hawks

Review Written by Adam Garfield (@AdamThe6God)

Jonas Valanciunas dominated the 1st quarter as he racked up 10 points and 4 rebounds. The Raptors went on a 11-0 run in the middle of the quarter that gave them the lead. JV hyped the Toronto bench up after he dunked over Atalanta's Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Bellineli with about 5:30 left. Toronto led the Hawks 28-16 after one.

Fred VanVleet was the hero of the quarter as he dropped 11 points off of the bench. With 5:18 left in the 1st half, Fred was fouled on a three-pointer that he made, and he converted the and-1. Including this one, Toronto made 6 three-pointers in the quarter. Hawks' guards Dennis Schr??der and Kent Bazemore combined for 14 points in the period, but the Raptors were excellent on the defensive end outside of this. The Raptors led 58-40 heading into halftime.
