Happy New Year - An Open Letter From D.J.
Dear Friends, Partners, and Fans of StadiumScene.TV,

It’s become a tradition that I (D.J.) make my rare on-camera appearance to give our year in review and talk about the upcoming year.  However this year I decided that after two years of mediocre reading of a teleprompter, we're going to write out our NYE message as an open letter instead.

Year In Review

Through social media and word of mouth we’ve met some amazing people that we are now happy to call our partners and more importantly, our friends.  Now that we’ve opened our membership to the general public, we’re now partnered with over 60 independent publications with contributors from 35 US states and six countries. We’re continuing to focus on growing that number in 2020 as we also focus on driving traffic through Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and through our social media.

We've recently introduced compatibility with Twitch.TV as we expand across and bring eSports onto the platform.  You can argue whether or not eSports is actually a "sport", but you can't argue the surge in popularity and demand streaming such sports games as FIFA or Madden.  As we work to expand into that market in 2020, we're also going to focus on growing topics where we currently lack regular content, such as auto racing, baseball, gambling/DFS, MMA, and wrestling.

The Podcast

On the topic of our podcast, we’ve neglected recording episodes so we could focus on building our community in 2019 and we don’t regret that decision at all. We still were able to chat with Michelle McMahon of Big Ten Network, Super Bowl Champion Bernard Pollard, and our partner, good friend, and now published author Mark Darden. We’ll be bringing the show back in 2020 because there are a lot of interesting people with interesting stories to share.  We also plan to bring on our MVP members on the show as another benefit of our services.

New Feature in 2020

We can't give too much away right now, but we’re currently developing the next new feature for the site based on the survey results from last year. We think this new feature will be an excellent way to improve collaboration and provide publishers with that extra motivation to keep going and get better at what they do. We’ll have more information about this in late March.

Of course, we're only as good as the services we can provide, so if you have an idea to improve the site, please get in touch with us!  We're almost always roaming around social media.

Closing Message

Before we go celebrate the coming of the new year, we want to leave you with this message...

We’ve seen publishers come and go. Some of them decide that blogging or podcasting is too time-consuming or they get frustrated by the initial lack of audience growth.  It is hard work and it most definitely is time-consuming, but you don’t have to face the struggles alone. Take advantage of the resources that are available to you.   First off, if you're a publisher - join our community!  We have a lot of great features available for free!  When you're comfortable and ready to take that next step, we'd love to have you as part of the MVP Program.

If you're already a member, ask a partner to come on your show as a guest. Do a collaborative writing blog post with them. Don’t be afraid to reach out and introduce yourself to the other partners.  Our most successful partners take advantage of networking and collaboration.  One day, you'll be able to return the favor to someone else who will go through the same initial struggles you are having today.

We built stadiumscene.tv so that we are no longer individual tiny fish swimming around alone in the ocean, but instead a large school of fish that nobody can stop.

On behalf of us (D.J. and Kate - and also Jillian!), Happy New Year and let’s have an awesome 2020.  We're going to do awesome things together.
