Stadium Information

About Anfield:

Did you know that Everton FC was the original occupant of Anfield?  After a dispute, Everton moved to Goodison Park and Liverpool FC since the stadium needed a tenant.  Anfield is also famous for "The Kop", a stand behind one of the goals that is notorious for having some of the loudest and rowdiest fans in all of Europe.

Tour Info:

A variety of tour options are available including both the grounds (including home dressing room and press room) and a tour of the museum are available.  It's recommended that tickets be purchased from the club a head of time.

Security Screenings:

Standard security checks used include metal detectors, body searches, and bag checks before entry will be allowed.

Bag Policy:

Bags are typically prohibited except for "A5" type bags (a small handbag).  It's recommended that you leave your bag at home unless absolutely necessary.  Larger bags such as backpacks and suitcases are prohibited and there does not appear to be a bag check at the stadium.

Note: Bag and security policy listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variation to the policy. Please check event website for any changes or variation.

Parking & Transportation

Parking Options

There are a few car parks in the area, but good luck finding a spot on game day.  You may be ok if you are coming on a non-game day for a tour or other event.

We're setting up a partnership with a new parking company. Stay tuned for more details!

Bus Service:

If you're staying in the Liverpool city center, an express bus is available to take you from the city center to the grounds and back again for a discounted bus fee.

Rail Service:

The Lime Street station is approximately two miles from Anfield, so it is recommended that you take a cab if arriving in Liverpool by rail.

Taxi & Rideshare Service:

Taxi service is a recommended travel option and return taxis after the match can be picked up at the corner of Anfield Rd and Sleepers Hill (a short walk northwest of the stadium).
