Stadium Information

About Madison Square Garden:

The legendary Madison Square Garden opened in 1968 and has hosted some of the biggest events and is a frequent venue for Elton John, Billy Joel, U2, and Madonna. Be sure to look for Spike Lee sitting court side for Knicks games.

Tour Info:

A variety of tour options are available. Please visit for tour information.

Security Screenings:

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy:

Backpacks, oversized bags, and suitcases are prohibited.  All bags are subject to search.

Note: Bag and security policy listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variation to the policy. Please check event website for any changes or variation.

Parking & Transportation

Parking Options

The Garden does not own their own parking facility, but there are more than a dozen parking garages and lots within walking distance. Rates can be very pricy, as are most parking garages in New York City.

We're setting up a partnership with a new parking company. Stay tuned for more details!

Bus Service:

M4, M10, M16, M34 and Q32 to Seventh Avenue/Penn Station lines all available near MSG. Please visit the MTA to plan your trip.

Rail Service:

The world famous Pennsylvania Station is across the street. From here you can get to about anywhere in New York City, New Jersey, or even take an Amtrak to Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and other cities. Please visit the MTA, NJ Transit, or Amtrak websites to plan your trip.

Taxi & Rideshare Service:

There's no official taxi stand or drop off point, but it's Manhattan...there are taxis everywhere.

Closest Major Airport: Laguardia Airport (LGA)
