Stadium Information

About PPG Paints Arena:

Opening in 2010, this arena's construction is the only reason the Penguins did not move to Kansas City or Las Vegas. It replaced the aging Civic Center Arena and sits near the campus of Duquesne University.

Tour Info:

A variety of tour options are available. Please visit for tour information.

Security Screenings:

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy:

Medical bags, diaper bags, and wallets smaller than 8" x  5" x 1" may be allowed after inspection.  All large bags such as backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the arena.  All bags are subject to inspection before entry.  For more information, please visit the stadium website.

Note: Bag and security policy listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variation to the policy. Please check event website for any changes or variation.

Parking & Transportation

Parking Options

There are several reasonably priced parking lots within a short walking distance of the stadium.

We're setting up a partnership with a new parking company. Stay tuned for more details!

Bus Service:

61A, 61B, 61C, 61D, 71A, 71C, 71D, 81, 82 and 83 bus routes all have stops at the stadium. Please visit the Port Authority to plan your trip.

Rail Service:

Light rail stations are located at Steel Plaza, First Ave and Wood St with Steel Plaza (0.5 miles) being the closest to the stadium.

Taxi & Rideshare Service:

There is no official taxi stand, but it appears you can hail a cab from the Fifth Ave side of the stadium after the event.
