Stadium Information

About Soldier Field:

Technically, Soldier Field is one of the oldest operating stadiums in the NFL dating back to an opening day in 1924 (second to the LA Memorial Coliseum by one year). Some argue that as a result of the significant exterior renovations in the early 2000s, it's not the same stadium anymore. The stadium was actually listed as a National Landmark and de-listed in 2006 as a result of the renovations. Regardless, Soldier Field has a long history of hosting football, soccer, hockey, concerts, and other non-sporting events.

Tour Info:

A variety of tour options are available. Please visit for tour information.

Security Screenings:

All guests are subject to a screening using a wand upon entry.

Bag Policy:

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12." (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags will be available through club merchandise outlets)One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)Small clutch bags, 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.

Note: Bag and security policy listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variation to the policy. Please check event website for any changes or variation.

Parking & Transportation

Parking Options

Two attached garages (north and south of the stadium) and several parking lots next to the stadium. The complex is on Lake Shore Drive and the area can get very congested around game-time or if you are traveling in for Monday or Thursday night football.

We're setting up a partnership with a new parking company. Stay tuned for more details!

Bus Service:

Per the stadium website, on Chicago Bears game days, you can take the #128 Soldier Field Express (Chicago Bears gamedays only) and the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses. Then to leave the game, hop on the #128 and the #146 buses which are along the west side of the Transportation Center at the corner of McFetridge and Special Olympics Drive, which is just northeast of the stadium.  For more info see the CTA website.

If you're staying in the suburbs, PACE offers a Soldier Field Express bus ride from Schaumburg, Lombard, Palos Heights, Oak Lawn, Bolingbrook, and Burr Ridge. See
PACE for more information.

Rail Service:

The Roosevelt stop for the Chicago Transit Authority's (CTA) red, green, and orange line is about a 15-minute walk from Soldier Field.

Coming from the north, west, or southwest suburbs? Take the METRA train to Union Station or Ogilvie and jump on the Soldier Field Express (route 128) bus. The Metra Electric Line serves the south suburbs and will drop you off at the 18th Street station.

Taxi & Rideshare Service:

This information is subject to change so it’s best to verify on the stadium website. The stadium website indicates that taxis, limos, and buses cannot enter Soldier Field 90 minutes after kick-off. Then taxis, limos, and buses can begin pick-up 1 hour after the game ends to let other stadium traffic clear out first.
The pre-game drop-off locations are at the 18th St. turnaround which is west of Lake Shore Drive and on Balbo Dr. at Columbus Dr.

Note that post-game pick-up is only on Balbo Dr. at Columbus Dr. north of Soldier Field.
