Tropicana Field offers a different kind of baseball experience, with its fully enclosed dome providing a consistent environment regardless of Florida’s weather.
Located in St. Petersburg, arrival is typically by car, with parking surrounding the stadium and a straightforward entry process.
Inside, the fixed roof and catwalk structure create a unique visual compared to open-air ballparks. The seating bowl is functional, with decent sightlines throughout.
One of the standout features is the ray tank in center field, where fans can get up close to live stingrays during the game.
After the game, the surrounding area is quieter than most MLB venues, making the in-stadium experience the primary focus of a visit to Tropicana Field.
Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium. Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside. Pat down searches may be required.
Public Transit: 16th St S + 1st Ave S, just northwest of the stadium is the closest bus stop. Please visit the PSTA website for more information or to plan your trip. There does not appear to be any rail service for this stadium.
Rideshare: After the game exit at Gate 1 or Gate 7 and walk to 4th Ave S or 10th Street. Drivers are allowed to stage here while they wait for you to arrive at the car.
