Chase Field looks like a giant airline hanger with a retractable roof, but believe it or not, it is a great place to watch a game. On hot days where they plan on opening the roof, the roof is kept closed until right before game time. It takes about 4 minutes to fully open and costs about $3.00 in electricity. The blowers do the rest and keep the inside quite comfortable. I once sat at a game where it was 95 outside, the roof was open, and it felt like it was 75 inside.

In the Arizona heat, Chase Field is built for comfort. Located in downtown Phoenix, the stadium features a retractable roof and air conditioning, making it one of the more climate-controlled environments in Major League Baseball.
Approaching the stadium, the downtown setting makes it easy to access by car or light rail, with multiple entry points surrounding the venue.
Inside, the stadium feels spacious, with wide concourses and a design that prioritizes airflow and comfort. The pool in right field adds a unique feature that sets Chase Field apart from other parks.
Food options are varied, with a mix of traditional items and Southwestern-inspired choices. Moving around the stadium is straightforward, even during busy moments.
After the game, the downtown location offers options for dining and entertainment nearby, while traffic disperses relatively quickly compared to more congested markets.
Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium. Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside. Pat down searches may be required.
