About Climate Pledge Arena

Originally opening in 1962 for the World's Fair, the Seattle SuperSonics moved in and occupied the building off and on from 1967 until they moved to Oklahoma City in 2008. Now the venue is primarily used by the Seattle Storm of the WNBA and for concerts and other smaller events until the NHL expansion Seattle Kraken start in the fall of 2021.

Fan Tips

Climate Pledge Arena delivers one of the most modern and forward-thinking arena experiences in sports, combining sustainability with high-end design in Seattle Center.

Approaching the arena, the preserved historic roof and surrounding landmarks like the Space Needle create a distinctive arrival experience.

Inside, the layout feels sleek and spacious, with excellent sightlines and a strong emphasis on fan comfort and flow.

Food and beverage options are a standout, featuring local vendors and elevated choices that go beyond typical arena concessions.

After the game, the surrounding Seattle Center area offers open space and nearby attractions, making it easy to extend the experience.

Security Screenings

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy

All bags larger than 14"x14" such as backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the arena.  All bags are subject to inspection before entry.

Note: Bag and security policies listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variations. Please check the event website for any changes.
