Stadium Information

About Spectrum Center

Previously known as Time Warner Cable Arena, this arena was constructed and opened back in 2005 to welcome professional basketball back to Charlotte. The stadium was the result of a longstanding battle which eventually resulted in the original franchise moving to New Orleans for the 2002-2003 season.

Fan Tips

Spectrum Center offers a modern downtown arena experience for Charlotte Hornets games, with a design that emphasizes accessibility and fan comfort.

Located in uptown Charlotte, the arena is easily reached by light rail, bus, and nearby parking garages.

The seating layout keeps fans close to the court, helping create a lively atmosphere, especially during competitive matchups.

Food and beverage options include traditional fare along with regional Carolina influences.

After the game, fans can step right into uptown Charlotte’s restaurants and nightlife scene.

Security Screenings

Like almost all US and Canadian Stadiums, you will need to enter through a metal detector before entering the stadium.  Be sure to give yourself extra time and don't bring any weapons or devices that could be seen as a weapon inside.  Pat down searches may be required.

Bag Policy

All bags larger than 16"x16"x8" such as backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc. will be prohibited from entry into the arena.  All bags are subject to inspection before entry.

Note: Bag and security policies listed above are for typical sporting events. Special events, concerts, and other situations may result in variations. Please check the event website for any changes.
